Circle of Friends Print E-mail

Dear Prospective Sponsors, Since  the year 2000, the  former Teleki-Wattay Castle of Pomaz had been standing empty and in deteriorating condition. It was renovated in 2004-2007 thanks to an EU Phare grant and was inaugurated in 2008 as Hungarian  Choral  Castle  with  the  aim  of  becoming  an  important center  for  national  and  international  choral music.  The  funds  obtained, however,  were  not  sufficient  for  all  the  renovations  needed  and  to properly  equip  the  Choral  Castle,  so  in  order  to  attain  the  remaining objectives we have established the:

Circle of Friends of the Teleki-Wattay Castle

The founders of the Circle of Friends – the management of the Choral Castle (Andras Hargitai and Gabor Moczar) and  the Teleki  family  (Agnes and Gabor) - cordially  invite you, your  family and friends  to  join  the  Circle which  they  are  establishing with  the  intention  of  providing  financial  and moral support to the institution so that it can operate satisfactorily and make further improvements to  the  building.  The  property,  listed  as  a  historic  building,  is  an  entailed  property  of  the  State, administered by the Local Government of Pomaz and operated by Pomaz Music-Castle Nonprofit Ltd.
The Choral Castle invites Hungarian and foreign choirs and musical groups to promote close ties between  them,  organizes  common  programs  and  invites  renowned  Hungarian  conductors  to  lead foreign groups in order to popularize Hungarian choral culture. In addition to first-rate concerts, the Center is a venue for national and international conferences, various music courses, as well as for art exhibits.  It  also  organizes  special  events,  provides  quality  lodging  and  restaurant  facilities  for traditional tourists and other guests whose visit is not related to music.

The members  of  the Circle of  Friends  can  be Hungarian  or  foreign  persons,  or  legal  entities, who wish to contribute to the continuous renovation of the building and/or consider that the activities of the Center are of such outstanding importance that they wish to contribute on a yearly basis to the promotion of these goals.
