It's our definite intention to become within a short term an important centre for the Hungarian and international choral ilfe. Therefore we would like to serve the needs of national and foreign choirs and welcome various choral events. All ideas from associate institutions and music organisations are warmly welcome! By hosting foreign ensembles the Castle would like to ease the creation of contacts between foreign, regional and national choirs, moreover promotes the Hungarian choral culture through inviting renowned music teachers for workshops with foreign groups.

The Hungarian Choral Castle shall start its operation by January 2008 in the renovated Teleki-Wattay Castle with the following programme: 

1.     For national choirs it would present further education facilities and place for preparation to more serious competitions. In this way it could help them with connection to the Ministry of Culture or with any other financial institution and project co-ordination.

2.     For music teachers, choirmasters and voice-leaders the institution would present professional training courses and seminars. Teachers of Hungarian literature and grammar could have training’s of folk music and native language at disposal. Programmes could make the music teaching and singing more popular and likeable to children. Recording and distribution of irregular music lessons.

3.     Organisation of international conferences, meetings and symposiums.

4.     For foreign choirs the castle would present accommodation and concert possibility during their trips in Hungary. By further services they could get to know with the culture and the traditions of the Hungarian music education. From the tourism’s point of view the organisation of artistic trips is also possible to survey the surrounding regions and towns of Pomáz which is especially rich in values.

5.     Organisation of performances, concerts, chamber music events and festivals. Arrangement and organisation of any other music programmes (in the castle or on any other places).

6.     Mainly in the summer period organisation of colonies of artists, different creative camps and artistic camps for the young generation.

7.     Creation, development and operation of database on the Internet. Information service to the Hungarian choir society also regarding national and international projects. Establishment, development and operation of a book, score and record library for the musicians at their local works.

8.     Establishment of a sound and video recording studio which is suitable also for duplication of these records and video tapes and it also could fulfil other commissions in other places. To realise the above concept we have the following facilities at disposal: accommodation for 50-60 guest in 17 2-4 bedded rooms, restaurant and community halls, for workshops and sessions 6 smaller and medium sized halls (to be equipped with pianos and pianinos), a concert and conference hall in a separate building (200 seats), an archive for books, recordings and scores, an audio and video studio with a chamber hall suitable for recordings.
